Information for New Clients

Riverside Vets is now a membership only practice. This means that to register with us you will need at least one of your pets needs to be sighed up to one of our Membership Clubs . We currently have a Waiting list so if you would like to join us, please add your details and we will contact you as soon as we can.

If your pet has a genuine emergency or you would like more information about our Membership Clubs please call the practice to speak to a member of staff directly.
Membership requirement applies to new clients only, if you are already registered with us we will be happy to add any new pets onto your account and you will not be required to take out a membership as long as you remain an active client.

Stay in touch with us through PetsApp, a simple and fast messaging system you can use to book appointments, request repeat medications, or just ask a question.  You can use it to let us know you have arrived at the surgery, and you can even use it to make payments direct from you phone.  Download the PetsApp from the App Store or Play Store to get started     

Opening Times

Weekday Opening Times:

Mon-Fri: 8.30am-1.00pm, 2.00pm-6.00pm

Appointments Available:

Mon-Fri: 9.00am-10.30am, 3.30pm-6.00pm

Evening Appointments

We are currently offering one or two evening sessions each week with appointments available between 7pm and 9pm

Weekend Opening:

We now open every Saturday and Sunday 8.30am-6.00pm in one of our branches, alternating between Abergavenny and Ebbw Vale each week.

Emergency Service

If you need veterinary attention outside normal  hours please call your usual branch 24 hours a day

Your call will be answered by a qualified veterinary nurse who can discuss the case, give basic advice and recommend if you need to see or speak to a vet urgently. If you do, one of our own vets will be available until 10.30pm each week night.
After 10.30pm on week nights and 6.00pm on weekends, the nurse will direct you to the Vets Now emergency hospital in Newport if you need to be seen. Click here for full details of our Opening Times and Out of Hours service
