Job Title: Receptionist
Nickname: Tea Fairy
Joined Riverside in: 2015
Pets: none at the moment
Animal she would be: Lion

I came to Riverside in 2015 with previous admin experience. I applied for the job as I thought it seemed interesting and different to what I had done before. The best thing about my job is getting to meet all the different animals that come in every day. I mainly work in the Abergavenny branch but I do go up to Ebbw Vale sometimes too.

There is a lot to learn as a veterinary receptionist and there is always something new. I have completed the British Veterinary Receptionist Associations (BVRA) Bronze Award to gain new ideas and tips for helping customers, and offering the best service I can to the clients and their pets. I am now working towards the Silver Award gaining more in depth knowledge to help when advising clients.

I also spend time on other projects at work such as managing the practice facebook page, and creating display boards for the waiting room. I am quite interested in marketing and hoping to become more involved in this side of things as well.

I grew up in Abergavenny and we always had pets when I was a child. We had cats, rabbits and guinnea pigs, but unfortunately I don't have any pets at the moment. I really like penguins but if I was an animal I think I would be a lion as I have the right hair!

Outside of work I enjoy yoga which I go to every week. I also like swimming and generally keeping myself fairly fit and healthy. I also like to go for a nice walk every so often.
